Hexagonal Transmission Steels

The steels to which forming process is applied by passing the manufacturing and reclamation steels through one or more moulds at room temperature are called "Cold Drawing Steel" or "Transmission Steel". Cold drawing process aims to increase the yield and tensile strength of the material without the need for heat treatment. When it is necessary to improve the mechanical properties of the hot rolled sheet only by thinning, rolling at room temperature is applied instead of drawing. This type of material is known as cold rolled steel.

Among the grades used as transmission steels, grades such as St37-2, St44-2, St52-3, SAE 1008, SAE 1010, SAE 1018, etc. can be mentioned. The cold drawn states of these materials are referred to as "transmission steel".
