It is a hot rolled flat steel material with a rectangular cross-section perpendicular to the length axis. The corners of the steel plate are as sharp as hot rolling allows. It is generally used in steel structures and supporting elements. The purpose of use is mostly to strengthen the supports of the structures, to strengthen the bond between two profiles or between the floor and the ceiling. Accordingly, it is used in a wide range from steel structure to machine manufacturing and automotive.

Steel grades such as St37 (S235JR), St44 (S275JR), St52 (S355JR), St60 (E335), SAE 1010, SAE 1020, SAE 1030 SAE 1040, etc. are the grades most commonly produced in steel plate form.
